Frequently Asked Questions
PROJECT QUESTIONS
• I need an engineer to build an extension on my house. Can I get a quote from Harbourside for my small residential project?
As a general rule, Harbourside does not take on small residential projects.
• My property is at risk due to coastal erosion. Can I hire Harbourside to help mitigate this?
Mitigating the effects of coastal erosion, climate change, and sea-level rise are all things that Harbourside does as part of larger infrastructure/marine projects. As a general rule, Harbourside does not take on small residential projects.
• My company has an ongoing project with Harbourside, and I need to reach someone. How can I do that?
This should be done through the project manager for the project in question. They will reach out to the correct individuals at Harbourside if they deem it necessary.
If you use the general contact form on our website for this type of inquiry, you will reach our general office administrator and there will be a significant delay in response time.

COMPANY QUESTIONS
• Is the Harbourside Engineering Group a single company?
“Harbourside Engineering Group” or “Harbourside Group of Companies” are the terms we use to discuss our group of companies, although each exists as a distinct legal entity. These are Harbourside Engineering Consultants, Harbourside Transportation Consultants, Harbourside Geotechnical Consultants, Harbourside Project Management, and Harbourside Industrial Group.
Our group shares office space, and works collaboratively on projects when the need arises. This offers our clients flexibility and expertise across multiple engineering sectors.
• How do different Harbourside companies work on the same project?
This depends on the project. Sometimes one company is hired as a subconsultant to another. Sometimes two or more Harbourside companies are hired independently to work on different aspects of a larger project. In either case, this model ensures that there is easy communication between different sectors, and that work is kept “in-house” for maximum efficiency.
